Canada, A Land Of Hero's.

Ezra Levant is not alone in Canada. There are a number of other Hero's who are likewise battling the forces of Orwellian evil. Mark Steyn is under attack by the Canadian Islamic Congress for having had the temerity to write things that the CIC found unflattering. Mark Steyn and the Magazine, Macleans, that published his article is under attack by the Canadian Human Rights Commission, the same Stalinist shits that are harassing Ezra Levant. “Publisher Kenneth Whyte said he would rather go bankrupt than have the CIC set the terms for what the magazine publishes.”

The West needs to confront both the Islamist and the Stalinist that facilitate them. Both are enemies of freedom. Both must be defeated.

That threat that is Islam is beginning to be made plain to the West. The West must stand up to it.

The idea a magazine should have to defend its writings to a government body has some critics warning of Soviet-style thought police and urging the commissions to get out of the business of regulating speech and expression.

Alan Borovoy, general counsel of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, said he fought to create human rights commissions "to deal with "discriminatory deeds ... not discriminatory words."

"Nobody thought it would be used to censure freedom of expression," he said.

The Canadian human rights commission would not comment on the case but said it was authorized by Parliament to investigate what it calls hate speech.

Freedom of expression is guaranteed in Canada's constitution, but laws have been enacted that restrict hate speech. In December, an Alberta human rights panel ruled that a local pastor broke a human rights law by writing letters to the editor urging citizens to stand up against what he described as militant homosexuality.

CBC commentator Rex Murphy said Maclean's should not have to defend itself for starting debate and stirring thought.

"Is every touchy, or agenda-driven sensibility now free to call upon the offices of the state and ... embroil them in 'justifying' their right to write and broadcast as they see fit?" he asked on CBC's flagship news program, The National.

Steyn said the CIC and law students acting on its behalf aimed to shut down debate by making it more trouble than it's worth for editors to run pieces on controversial topics.

But he added, "In using quasi-judicial coercion to squash debate, they make one of the central points of my argument -- that a proportion of Islam is inimical to Western traditions of freedom -- more eloquently than I ever could."

A few days ago I highlighted the plight of a blogger by the nick of Lionheart.

Lionheart is an illustration of one of the two Achilles heels of the Anti-Jihad movement.

Islam is not a race. Few things can be more self evident.

If the Anti-Jihad movement comes to be associated with Racialist or Ethnic Nationalist, it will be mortally wounded. Not only will it become totally ineffective in reproaching Islam (since Islam is not bound by race) but it will itself become so odious that it will be near impossible for the great middle to accept anything that the Anti-Jihad Movement says without associating it with goose-stepping Nazis and/or with kooks in bedsheets who burn crosses.

The BNP, the British Nationalist Party, is a racialist party in Britain. If it were active here in the States, it would be accurately described and derided as a Nazi party. Americans will have no truck with parties like the BNP which are predicated on promoting the legal supremacy of one ethnic group or melanin hue over others. The BNP is such a party. It is a white nationalist party. (Which makes it a de facto Stupid Party.)

It seems that Lionheart is an apologist for and a supporter of the BNP, which makes him like kryptonite to Americans.

We can support his right to speak his mind. We don't have to support his ideas.

Unfortunately, the nuances of Freedom Of Speech advocacy does not mean shit to the world. Lionheart's association with the BNP will hurt the Anti-Jihad movement on both sides of the Atlantic.

Hear us Lionheart! Desperation is no excuse for siding with Nazis. If you fail to repudiate the Racialist and the Ethnic Nationalist that you have championed on your blog, you will hurt more than just yourself. Half-assed apologies are not enough. you must repudiate the Racialist and the the Ethnic Nationalist in the strongest terms possible. You MUST do this.

Suspected Islamic militants fatally shot eight tribal leaders involved in efforts to broker a cease-fire between security forces and insurgents in Pakistan's volatile northwest, authorities said Monday.

The men were killed in separate attacks late Sunday and early Monday in South Waziristan, a mountainous region close to Afghanistan where al-Qaida and Taliban militants are known to operate, a security official and the military said in a statement.

The suspected insurgents killed three of the men in a market in Wana, the region's main town, while the other five were killed in attacks on their homes, the security official said. The men were scheduled to meet each other on Monday in Wana to discuss the negotiations, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to media.

Pakistan is an ally in the U.S. war on terrorism, and its security forces have fought intense battles with militants in South Waziristan. Although the government has encouraged moderate tribal elders to broker a cease-fire in the region, there has been little sign of success.
