Germans, Europeans, Leftist the world over versus the Americans.

*

Is it really more about what you believe then what you know?

Is it really all the fault of the Americans?

~~~
The Germans have believed in many things in the course of their recent history. They've believed in colonies in Africa and in the Kaiser. They even believed in the Kaiser when he told them that there would be no more political parties, only soldiers on the front.
Not too long afterwards, they believed that Jews should be placed into ghettos and concentration camps because they were the enemies of the people. Then they believed in the autobahn and that the Third Reich would ultimately be victorious. A few years later, they believed in the Deutsche mark. They believed that the Berlin Wall would be there forever and that their pensions were safe. They believed in recycling as well as in cheap jet travel. They even believed in a German victory at the soccer World Cup.
Now they believe that the United States is a greater threat to world peace than Iran. This was the by-no-means-surprising result of a Forsa opinion poll commissioned by Stern magazine. Young Germans in particular -- 57 percent of 18-to-29-year-olds, to be precise -- said they considered the United States more dangerous than the religious regime in Iran.
The EU will ban "Jihad", "Islamic" and "Fundamentalist"
*
The EU has created a new hand book on Newspeak for it's government officials.
Unable to stand up to the threat of Islamic Jihad by Muslim Fundamentalist, the EU has opted for banning the use of the words “Jihad”, “Islamic” and “Fundamentalist.
Their delusional denial is becoming truly frightful.
~~~
The European Union has drawn up guidelines advising government spokesmen to refrain from linking Islam and terrorism in their statements.

Brussels officials have confirmed the existence of a classified handbook which offers "non-offensive" phrases to use when announcing anti-terrorist operations or dealing with terrorist attacks.

Banned terms are said to include "jihad", "Islamic" or "fundamentalist".

The word "jihad" is to be avoided altogether, according to some sources, because for Muslims the word can mean a personal struggle to live a moral life.

Yah sure, "Jihad" can be twisted out of context to mean "personal Struggle", but only the dim and gullible would buy it.

Islam can not withstand criticisms

*

Here is another good reason to shove the UN building into Turtle Bay and forcibly expel all of its delegates.

The UN Human Rights council makes a mockery of the concept of "Human Rights".

~~~
The United Nations top human rights body condemned "defamation" of religion on Friday and, in an apparent reference to the storm over the Prophet cartoons, said press freedom had its limits.
With the support of China, Russia and Cuba, Moslem and Arab states comfortably won a vote on the 47-state Human Rights Council to express concern at "negative stereotyping" of religions and "attempts to identify Islam with terrorism."
"The resolution is tabled in the expectation that it will compel the international community to acknowledge and address the disturbing phenomena of the defamation of religions, especially Islam," said Pakistan, speaking on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
Good on Canada!
*
Well done Canada!
The Palestinians have voted themselves a government of terrorist. They should be shunned for the pariahs that they are.
Islam does not permit the Islamist to live in peace with Israelis. Islam does not permit the Islamist to live in peace with anybody, not even with Canadians. It is as simple as that.
So be it.
~~~
The only member of the new Palestinian unity government to visit Ottawa since the Canadian government cut aid and diplomatic ties last year was shunned by government officials Wednesday.

Information Minister Mustafa al-Barghuti planned to meet with members of Canada's three opposition parties.

But requests for talks with representatives of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Conservative government went unanswered, he told reporters outside Parliament.

"No. We're not meeting with (Barghuti) today," Andre Lemay, a spokesman for Foreign Minister Peter Mackay, later told AFP. "And, our policy towards the Palestinian government has not changed."

The new Palestinian unity government includes Hamas, regarded as a terror group by Canada, and the Fatah movement of president Mahmud Abbas.

Running Riot in France

*

This is how France will perish.

Riots without end.

They will look like race riots, but they will not be about race. Race is incidental to what is going on in France.

Islam is not about race.

The Muslims have something that they are willing to kill for. The native French have been committing demographic suicide since the end of WWII. Even if the French wanted to fight, they would not have the numbers in their favor.

The Muslims will win.

Demographic shifts occur exponentially, not arithmetically.

The outcome is inevitable.

France will perish.

~~~
The train lines from Gare du Nord radiate out to the same suburbs north of Paris where three weeks of rioting erupted in 2005. That violence was born of pent-up anger - especially among youths of Arab and African origin - over years of high unemployment and racial inequalities.
The melee spilled onto the surrounding streets late Tuesday as officers cleared the station. Police ordered spectators to disperse and threatened to charge as small groups of youths set fire to wooden barricades and garbage cans and pelted passing tourist buses with sticks.
Zidou said the violence had echoes of the riots in 2005. ``They never finished,'' he said. ``It slowed down a bit, but it was never over.''
Another commuter, Guy Elkoun, said: ``There's always a feeling of insecurity in this train station ... I knew this could happen someday.''
Officials from Paris' RATP public transport authority said the violence started after a man without a Metro ticket punched two inspectors during a routine ticket check. Youths also attacked the inspectors and later turned on police patrolling the station, officials said.
``The inspectors were hit with projectiles, as were the officers who came to assist them,'' said Luc Poignant, an official for the Force Ouvriere police union.
But youths at the station said Tuesday's clashes started when police manhandled a young person of North African origin. Some claimed that the youth's arm was broken in the confrontation.
Constructive Engagement Illustrated
*
Bernard Lewis uses history to illuminate the present.
~~~
What are the European responses to this situation? In Europe, as in the United States, a frequent response is what is variously known as multiculturalism and political correctness. In the Muslim world there are no such inhibitions. They are very conscious of their identity. They know who they are and what they are and what they want, a quality which we seem to have lost to a very large extent. This is a source of strength in the one, of weakness in the other.

A term sometimes used is constructive engagement. Let's talk to them, let's get together and see what we can do. Constructive engagement has a long tradition. When Saladin re-conquered Jerusalem and other places in the holy land, he allowed the Christian merchants from Europe to stay in the seaports. He apparently felt the need to justify this, and he wrote a letter to the caliph in Baghdad explaining his action. I would like to quote it to you. The merchants were useful since "there is not one among them that does not bring and sell us weapons of war, to their detriment and to our advantage." This continued during the Crusades. It continued after. It continued during the Ottoman advance into Europe, when they could always find European merchants willing to sell them weapons they needed and European bankers willing to finance their purchases. Constructive engagement has a long history.

John Bolton, who until recently was the US envoy to the UN, said he believed that the seizure of the British sailors was a “conscious decision by the Tehran Government”, related to the Security Council’s planned sanctions against Iran.

He added: “They were possibly picking on the British because they think the Europeans are the weak link in this.

Between The Rocks And The Hard Places

*

Now that the Democrats have some marginal power in Washington DC, their fringe-kook supporters are beginning to turn on them.

Code Pink, a fringe kook group if their ever was one, is now trying to “Pin the war on the Donkey.” Four members of the kook group managed to get themselves arrested outside of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-California) Office in Washington DC.

~~~
Code Pink members were crying outside Pelosi’s office. When asked why, Rae Abileah, 24, said she was crying out of “outrage that this is all we can get from the Democrats,” referring to the Iraq supplemental funding bill, scheduled for a vote Friday.
http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/anti-war-protesters-arrested-at-pelosis-office-2007-03-22.html
This kind of behavior should not be surprising to you. The fringe kooks of the extreme left are going to bring even more pressure to bear on their Democrat representatives because the Democrats are the ones in power. More importantly to the fringe-kooks, the Democrats care more about them than do the Republicans.
For the Democrats, the kook fringe represents votes that can be lost. It is not that the Democrats have any fears that their kook fringe base will vote for Republicans instead of Democrats, but rather that the kook fringe will just not vote for them in upcoming elections. The kook fringe can never be really satisfied, and in that, they are a danger to the Democrats, potentially pulling them so far to the kook fringe left that the political middle may abandon them.
Democrats now find them selves between the rocks and the hard places.
Waste no pity on them.
An American Beslan?
*
In the Investor's Business Daily, there is an editorial drawing attention to something that could be a foreshadowing of a really horrific event.
Should a group of Islamist do in America what they did in Beslan, I think that it is possible that most Americans would be shocked out of their indifference towards the death cult that is called Islam.
The wackos on the left fringe would still scream that it was all chimpymcbushhitler’s fault much as they do now for everything else that is unpleasant. The wacko left is as much of an enemy of the West as are the Islamist.
~~~
The FBI and Homeland Security Department last week sent out a bulletin to law enforcement across the country warning that Muslims with "ties to extremist groups" are signing up to be school bus drivers. They also noted "recent suspicious activity" by foreigners who drive school buses or are licensed to drive them.

Recent events come on top of several other school bus-related incidents involving Mideast men that raise suspicion of terror activity.

They include last year's surprise boarding of a school bus in Florida by two Saudi men dressed in trench coats. Authorities suspect they were making a dry run to see how easy it would be to hijack or blow up a school bus filled with American children.

Previously, an Arab man from Detroit was caught trying to obtain a job as a school bus driver in New York using fake Social Security documents.

Authorities fear the school massacre that took place in Beslan, Russia, in 2004 may be a dress rehearsal for what al-Qaida plans to do here. Chechen terrorists tied to al-Qaida seized a building in Beslan on the first day of school and slaughtered 338, including 172 kids.

Anti-War Leftist vs. the Children of Iraq

*

A day after Anti-War Leftist hung and burned American Flags and US Soldiers in effigy, Islamist in Iraq detonate a car bomb with two children trapped in the back seat.

It is a measure of what we are up against over there and over here.

~~~
Insurgents in Iraq detonated an explosives-rigged vehicle with two children in the back seat after US soldiers let it through a Baghdad checkpoint over the weekend, a senior US military official said Tuesday.
The vehicle was stopped at the checkpoint but was allowed through when soldiers saw the children in the back, said Major General Michael Barbero of the Pentagon's Joint Staff.
"Children in the back seat lowered suspicion. We let it move through. They parked the vehicle, and the adults ran out and detonated it with the children in the back," Barbero said.
A Simple Sunday Sermon
*
Think on it.
~~~
Jer. 16:14-21

The LORD Will Restore Israel

14"Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when it shall no longer be said, 'As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,' 15but 'As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.' For I will bring them back to their own land that I gave to their fathers.

16"Behold, I am sending for many fishers, declares the LORD, and they shall catch them. And afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks. 17For my eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from me, nor is their iniquity concealed from my eyes. 18But first I will doubly repay their iniquity and their sin, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable idols, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations."

19O LORD, my strength and my stronghold,
my refuge in the day of trouble,
to you shall the nations come
from the ends of the earth and say:
"Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies,
worthless things in which there is no profit.
20Can man make for himself gods?
Such are not gods!"

21"Therefore, behold, I will make them know, this once I will make them know my power and my might, and they shall know that my name is the LORD."

"We are becoming foreigners in our own land."

*

Europe, meaning that area on the globe that we call Europe, will not suddenly disappear. The dirt will remain.

A nation is more then the dirt that its people live on. A nation is not really about the dirt at all. A nation is about the people who live like an extended clan, with a shared history and shared culture. Ethnicity can be a part of what makes a nation, but we in the US know from experience that ethnicity is not that important at all when it comes to defining a nation. A nation is a people who share a compelling and binding idea of what they hold in common that makes them different from the people of other nations.

For the US, the classical liberalism of our nations founding, the noble words and sentiments of our Declaration of Independence, the Preamble to our Constitution, the blood shed at Antietam and Shiloh to make those words true in law, the Marches on Selma and Martin Luther King’s speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to make those words true in spirit and in practice shaped who and what we are as a nation.

Central to the whole course of our nation’s history is the idea that our rights and equality in the law come from God and are not suffered upon us at the pleasure of the state or of capricious sovereigns. No mortal being can take our rights and our equality under the law away from us. Our history runs with the rivers of blood that have attested to the truth of that. We understand that even if we were to be made slaves by a conquering mortal power, we would still have our rights and our equality, even if our slave masters did not respect the truth of that.

Our first allegiance is always to our God who made us free to choose him or not of our own free will. It is the essence of who and what we are. (We would make poor slaves because of that.)

Europe is not so advantaged.

Most of the nations of Europe have been defined from time out of mind by ethnicities, clans and tribes.

With little but race to hold them together, they are crumbling in the face of an existential threat that will in time destroy them.

With God, Europeans could have rallied around a faith that made all of their liberties and luxuries possible.

It is too late for that.

They have rejected God in Europe, and now they stand alone in their battle with the forces of the Anti-Christ.

Have pity on them.

We can't help them. Its not that we wouldn’t want to and its not that we won’t try, we do and we will.

It just won’t work.

They have breached their own walls, they have torched their own cultures, and they have turned their own churches into sepulchers for a God that they have rejected and attempted to murder.

Europe would rather die than repent and return to God.

And die it will.

~~~
Europe, as we may readily observe, is very far along in an accommodation with its still-increasing Muslim immigrant population that is resulting not in the Europeanizing of Islam, but rather the Islamizing of Europe. As Bernard Lewis declared in 2004, Europe will have an Islamic majority by the end of the 21st century at the latest. As Vlaams Belang's Mr. Dewinter recently put it, "We are becoming foreigners in our own land." Such tragic pronouncements turn conversation with Vlaams Belang into a kind of political free verse -- sadly evocative but rooted in a desperate reality that should shake American complacency. That is, "foreigners in our land" is poetry; Mohammed as the most popular boy's name in Brussels for six years running is implacable fact. The idea that "We are living on a dying continent but we are not dead yet," as Mr. Dewinter has explained, is metaphorical. His citation from Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi that "Allah is mobilizing Muslim Turkey to add... 50 million more Muslims" to the European Union augurs world-class revolution.
Moqtada al-Sadr Needs To Be Dead
*
That this scum still breaths is a sore point to the American Conservatives that have supported the war in Iraq. For many of us, our concerns with the war centered on a doubt that the US would persecute it with the vigor it required.
War is war.
It should be fought to win.
No quarter should be given to the enemy.
The war must be fought so viciously that the enemy thinks it is in his best interest to give up.
That is not how the war was fought.
The proof was in Fallujah.
And the proof is in the fact that Monkey-boy Sadr is still alive.
He needs to be dead yesterday, and with extreme prejudice.
~~~
BAGHDAD, March 16 -- Firebrand Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr on Friday called upon followers inside his stronghold of Sadr City to resist U.S. forces who are trying to stabilize the capital. Officials in his organization said the cleric was advocating a peaceful uprising.

"Raise your voices, all of you loving your brothers and united against your enemy saying as your leader taught you, 'No America, no Israel, no, no Satan,' by standing and demonstrating that way," Sadr said in a message distributed at the Kufa mosque in southern Iraq, according to a translation by the Washington-based SITE Institute, which tracks militant groups. In recent weeks, Sadr has appeared to cooperate with U.S. and Iraqi troops as they implement a month-old security plan in Baghdad and other parts of the country, even as he has continued to criticize the American presence in Iraq.

On Friday, thousands of Sadr's followers demonstrated in several parts of Iraq, including Sadr City, to protest the U.S. role. They denounced the neighborhood security outposts and garrisons being set up under the plan and demanded a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

It Should More Accurately Be Called Jihad

*

The Jihad continues apace even if the media elite choose to ignore it. The Western Left will be out in the big cities across the West on Monday protesting the war in Iraq. They will not confront the underlying core issue. They will ignore Islam. They will protest any suggestion that it should be considered as the cause of the conflicts that the world faces.

They would rather safely protest the West's efforts to defend itself against Islam then to oppose the Mohammedan death cult that thinks that infidel woman should be raped because they “are whores and should be treated as such.”

~~~
This violence by Muslims is usually labelled simply as "crime," but I believe it should more accurately be called Jihad. Those who know early Islamic history, as described in books such as The Truth About Muhammad by Robert Spencer, know that looting and stealing the property of non-Muslims has been part and parcel of Jihad from the very beginning. In fact, so much of the behavior of Muhammad himself and the early Muslims could be deemed criminal that it is difficult to know exactly where crime ends and Jihad begins. In the city of Oslo, for instance, it is documented that some of the criminal Muslim gangs also have close ties to radical religious groups at home and abroad. As Dutch Arabist Hans Jansen points out, the Koran is seen by some Muslims as a God-given "hunting licence," granting them the right to assault and even murder non-Muslims. It is hardly accidental that while Muslims make up about 10% of the population in France, they make up an estimated 70% of French prison inmates.
In the city of Antwerp, Belgium, Marij Uijt den Bogaard from 2003 to 2006 worked as a civil servant in the immigrant borough of Berchem. She noted how radical Islamist groups began to take over the immigrant neighbourhoods, but was fired when she warned against this danger in her reports to the authorities:
"Many victims of burglaries in houses and cars, of steaming and other forms of violence, can testify that aggression by Muslims is not directed against brothers and sisters, but against whoever is a kafir, a non-believer. Young Muslims justify their behaviour towards women who do not wear the headscarf, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, by referring to the Salafist teaching which says that these women are whores and should be treated as such. They told me this. I wrote it down in my reports, but the authorities refuse to hear it."
Filmmaker Pierre Rehov tells how a friend of his is a retired chief of police who used to be in charge of the security of a major city in the south of France. According to him, 80% of the rapes in the area were made by Muslim young men. In most cases, the parents would not understand why they would be arrested. The only evil those parents would see, genuinely, was the temptation that the male children had to face from infidel women.
"They Did Not Like My Reports"
*
Europe is approaching revolution faster then I thought it would.
Revolutions can erupt when a large enough mass of people feel that they have nothing left to lose and when they feel that doing noting is a greater threat to them and their children then doing something.
Europe is getting closer to that point.
~~~
From 2003 to 2006 I worked as a civil servant in the Berchem borough of Antwerp, Flanders. Berchem is a multicultural neighbourhood with many immigrants of Turkish and Moroccan origin. My job was to promote the integration of these people and foster good relations between the different ethnic groups living in Berchem. Prior to 2003 I worked in Antwerp North, another neighbourhood with many immigrants.

During the past years I noted how radical Islamists groups began to take over the immigrant neighbourhoods. I warned for this danger in my reports to the city authorities. The latter made it clear to me that they did not like my reports. They said my reports read like “Vlaams Belang tracts.” The VB is the local anti-immigration party. When I kept reporting about what I saw happening around me I was fired.

How Revolutions Become Easy

*

I am one of those that have been predicting a civil war in Europe.

We can see in this example of Dutch frustration how it will likely start.

~~~
Apparently Mulder intervened when Muslim youths harassed a pregnant native Dutch woman. He was able to grab the knife of one of the youths. When the police arrived Mulder was shot because he had raised the knife. Witnesses say Mulder was indicating to the police that he had called for them.
Locals claim the police has failed to protect them for years. They say the authorities are afraid of the immigrants and tolerate their criminal behaviour. After the death of Mulder the indigenous Dutch decided they had had enough and started riots which went on for two continuous nights. The police made 130 arrests: 60 of them are Ondiep residents. According to the mainstream media the others are mainly “football hooligans” from other parts of the country. Annie Brouwer-Korf, the Socialist mayor of Utrecht, has ordered Ondiep to be sealed off from the rest of town to keep non-residents out. She expressed some sympathy for the frustrated Ondiep residents. “I understand that residents are sometimes upset about the nuisance around their own house and neighbourhood. That does you no good whatsoever.”
http://www.brusselsjournal.com/node/1976
It is still early.
This is just an early skirmish, a resolving of nerve, a taste of what is to come.
The people will be pushed until they are up against a wall with nowhere else to go and nothing to lose.
Nothing to lose.
When a people have nothing to lose, revolutions become easy.
“Overselling our certainty about knowing the future.”
*
The Global Warming Crisis hype is the Lysenkoism of our age.
Politics trumps science.
Inconvenient facts such as the Holocene Maximum and the Medieval Warm Period are studiously and vigorously ignored. They have to be ignored. They make a mockery of the whole Global Warming movement.
~~~
Kevin Vranes, a climatologist at the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research at the University of Colorado, said he sensed a growing backlash against exaggeration. While praising Mr. Gore for “getting the message out,” Dr. Vranes questioned whether his presentations were “overselling our certainty about knowing the future.”

Typically, the concern is not over the existence of climate change, or the idea that the human production of heat-trapping gases is partly or largely to blame for the globe’s recent warming. The question is whether Mr. Gore has gone beyond the scientific evidence.

“He’s a very polarizing figure in the science community,” said Roger A. Pielke Jr., an environmental scientist who is a colleague of Dr. Vranes at the University of Colorado center. “Very quickly, these discussions turn from the issue to the person, and become a referendum on Mr. Gore.”
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/13/science/13gore.html?ei=5090&en=2df9d6e7a5aa6ed6&ex=1331438400&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&pagewanted=all

Al Gore is on record advocating the exaggeration of the Global Warming data. Of course, Al Gore is a politician, not a scientist. The exaggeration of data and the selective use of data to persuade is too often common tools of the trade for politicians like Al Gore.

Truth for a politician is a question of consensus, not of facts. Facts don't give a flying fig for consensus. If a consensus chooses to believe that the earth is flat, or that the sun orbits the earth, or that the stars are just pinpricks in the bowl of heaven, the facts will not change their minds to accommodate the consensus.

~~~
(Reporter) question: There's a lot of debate right now over the best way to communicate about global warming and get people motivated. Do you scare people or give them hope? What's the right mix?
(Al Gore) answer: I think the answer to that depends on where your audience's head is. In the United States of America, unfortunately we still live in a bubble of unreality. And the Category 5 denial is an enormous obstacle to any discussion of solutions. Nobody is interested in solutions if they don't think there's a problem. Given that starting point, I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve this crisis.
Over time that mix will change. As the country comes to more accept the reality of the crisis, there's going to be much more receptivity to a full-blown discussion of the solutions.
A Quixotic Quest To Reform Islam
There are efforts afoot to reform Islam into something that the West can live with, or to be more precise, into something that can live with the West.
One noble effort can be seen in the US State Department’s choices for their “Woman of Courage” award. 7 of the 10 winners are from Islamic nations.
These 7 women had all in their way challenged Islamic Orthodoxy in their countries. Some were able to change the status quo, others were not.
These seven women are engaged in a quixotic quest to reform Islam into something that is incapable of becoming. Islam is incapable of becoming a kinder gentler faith. Islam is only capable of being what a plain reading of its text, the Qur’an and the Hadith, make it out to be.
As long as the text of the Qur’an and the Hadith are what they are now, a plain reading of the text will make for an Islam that must be understood as the so called extremist understand it.
Wish these woman well, but note how little they will be able negate the argument for Jihad.
~~~
Something special went unnoticed last week when the US State Department gave out its first awards for "women of courage" to 10 foreign recipients: Seven of the women had demonstrated their honored bravery within Muslim countries.

Were these awards another US effort to help reform Islam? Possibly. But Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice simply praised the honorees for "combating attempts to dehumanize women." And the awards were pegged to International Women's Day, March 8.

Still, the winners, selected from 82 women nominated by US embassies, came from only eight nations, five of which are largely Muslim (Afghanistan, Indonesia, Iraq, Maldives, Saudi Arabia). That carries a message about the churn for change among Muslims.

It's possible that at least one woman activist from Iran should have made the cut. But then she would have been tagged a US agent. Last week, the clerics who rule in Tehran detained 33 women activists as they protested for five other women on trial for a 2006 demonstration against discriminatory laws. Such arrests show that female dissenters in Iran are a big threat to the Islamic regime.

Clarity is Good

*
Naming the enemy makes it possible to confront the enemy. The "war on Terror" does not name the enemy. The enemy is not "terror." The enemy is Islam, which uses "terror" as a tool.

The multiculturalists think that they can accommodate Islam because they do not understand that Islam will not and can not accommodate them.

By forthrightly naming the Enemy, as Diane West does, we will be better able to confront Islam and its Multiculturalists enablers.

~~~
Notice I didn't say "Islamists." Or "Islamofascists." Or "fundamentalist extremists." I've tried out such terms in the past, but I've come to find them artificial and confusing, and maybe purposefully so, because in their imprecision I think they allow us all to give a wide berth to a great problem: the gross incompatibility of Islam -- the religious force that shrinks freedom even as it "moderately" enables or "extremistly" advances jihad -- with the West. Am I right? Who's to say? The very topic of Islamization -- for that is what is at hand, and very soon in Europe -- is verboten.
A leaked British report prepared for Prime Minister Tony Blair last year warned even against "expressions of concern about Islamic fundamentalism" (another one of those amorphous terms) because "many perfectly moderate Muslims follow strict adherence to traditional Islamic teachings and are likely to perceive such expressions as a negative comment on their own approach to their faith." Much better to watch subterranean tunnels fill with charred body parts in silence. As the London Times' Simon Jenkins wrote, "The sane response to urban terrorism is to regard it as an avoidable accident."
In not discussing the roots of terror in Islam itself, in not learning about them, the multicultural clergy that shepherds our elites prevents us from having to do anything about them. This is key, because any serious action -- stopping immigration from jihad-sponsoring nations, shutting down mosques that preach violence and expelling their imams, just for starters -- means to renounce the multicultural creed. In the West, that's the greatest apostasy. And while the penalty is not death -- as it is for leaving Islam under Islamic law -- the existential crisis is to be avoided at all costs. Including extinction.
By the Rockets Red Glare
*
Here is a preview of what our summer likely has in store for us.
Ehud Olmert screwed up the Lebanon war and Israel will suffer dearly for it. There will be more blood and death. Hizb'Allah, Syria and Iran will insist. This next time, Israel must respond so strongly that Hizb’Allah, Syria and Iran would prefer to go to war with any other country before they would go to war against Israel again.
The only winning strategy for Israel is unquestionable and indisputable victory.
~~~
The Syrian army accelerated its deployment of medium and long-range rockets in the wake of the Lebanon war, during which the Hezbollah militia fired moe than 4,000 rockets against northern Israel.

"We have noticed that in recent months Syria has deployed hundreds, possibly thousands, of medium and long-range rockets along the border (with Israel)," one military source said.

"Many of the rockets are hidden in underground chambers and in camouflaged silos, which make them very difficult to locate," the source said.

Three of the sources were from the military and two from the government, and they all spoke to AFP on condition of anonymity. They said Syria has built a system of fortified underground tunnels along its border with Israel.

Most of the rockets deployed are 220 millimetre, with a range of 70 kilometres (43 miles), and 302 millimetre rockets capable of striking targets at a distance of more than 100 kilometres (56 miles).

The latter would be well within range of the main population centres in northern Israel such as Tiberias and Kiryat Shmona.

These long-range rockets could also reach Israel's third largest city of Haifa and its industrial zone, which is home to several essential industries, including oil refineries and a deep-water port.

It is also believed that Syria has deployed several FROG rocket launchers, with a a 550-kilogram (1,200-pound) warhead and 70-kilometre range, in areas between the border and the capital Damascus, 40 kilometres (25 miles) away.

According to the sources, such a massive deployment of well entrenched rockets poses "a real strategic threat" to Israel.

While Syria concentrates most of its long-range surface-to-surface missile arsenal in the north of the country, its decision to deploy rockets so close to the border may indicate that Syria is mulling an attack on Israel, experts say.

"Syrian President Bashar al-Assad realised after the Lebanon war that Israel was not as strong as it seems and that it could be threatened by simple means rather than an advanced army," the director of the Begin-Saadat Centre for Strategic Studies, Ephraim Inbar, told AFP.

Inbar, as well as the military sources, believe that "Assad could be preparing for low intensity war, a type of war of attrition with Israel, where Syria fires several rockets against Israel without provoking full-fledged war."

"Israel has absolute superiority in several fields in warfare," a senior government official said, referring mainly to Israel's advanced air force and "smart" weapons.

"So Syria is investing in fields where it can have an edge. It has invested in recent years in anti-aircraft weapons, rockets, missiles and bunkers. The war in Lebanon proved to the Syrians they were right to do so."

"Allahu Akbar!" And Pass The Ammunition!

*

Some missionaries for the Religion of Peace are in the dock in Australia.

They caught these guys because they made some really dumb mistakes. As deadly as they could have been if no one was paying attention, imagine how deadly a like minded group can be if they did not buy their jihad supplies in quantities that would draw attention to themselves.

At this point in the game, it is the dumb ones that are getting caught.

Just the dumb ones.

~~~
Their voices echoed loudly down the corridors of Penrith Local Court as they were led down to the cells from the heavily fortified courtroom.
They repeatedly yelled out "Allah Akbar" – Arabic for "God is Great" – while smiling broadly and waving to supporters who stood near the court door being heavily guarded by sheriffs.
Echoing just as loudly was the voice of crown prosecutor Wendy Abraham QC who spent just over three hours outlining the case against the nine terror suspects.
They stand accused of conspiring to launch a deadly attack on Sydney.
Investigators spent months tracking the alleged activities of the men, including their alleged stockpiling of potentially deadly chemicals including hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, citric acid and acetone.
The men allegedly went to extreme lengths to purchase the items. Moustafa Cheikho allegedly bought 24 bottles of hydrogen peroxide from a chemist in Menai in a single go when chemists usually store just six bottles of the chemical.
Mohamed Ali Elomar is accused of stockpiling more than 28,000 rounds of ammunition – including 12,000 rounds used in SKS assault rifles and AK-47 machineguns. The court heard it would have given the men 34 hours and 38 minutes of continuous firing.
Buying the chemicals and other items from stores across Sydney was not cheap, with Mirsad Mulahalilovic allegedly commenting the PVC pipes he'd bought from Bunnings at Bankstown were "a little expensive".
The Crown alleges the pipes were being used to make pipe bombs which could pass through detectors without being caught.
“Soldier of Allah” doing the Perp-Walk.
*
The Cartoon protest was a significant event.
One of the organizers of the protest in Britain has been found guilty of two charges of inciting murder.
He was actually inciting revolution, but be that as it may, at least he will have to spend a day or two in the pokey.
~~~
But Mr Perry told the court that the real purpose of the protest in London was to encourage terrorism. Mr Perry added: “Of course the UK had already been bombed. There was another significance to ‘Bomb, bomb the UK.’ The drawings had not appeared in any UK newspapers. This was supposed to be a demonstration against the publication of drawings in newspapers abroad. This behav-iour shows what the demonstration was about — it was an exhortation and encouragement to terrorism.”

Muhid, a halal meat inspector, saw himself as a “soldier” engaged in a struggle against those he believed had insulted Islam, and exhorted people to commit “terrorist killing”, the court was told.

He was wearing a jacket bearing the slogan “Soldier of Allah” during the march, in which the Danish flag was burnt. Police made no arrests during the protest for fear of provoking violence and instead decided that evidence of any offences would be gathered using video cameras.

Muhid is the fourth British Muslim to face trial after the protest, in which demonstrators, including one dressed as a suicide bomber, brandished placards that read “Kill the Kuffir”, meaning infidels or nonbelievers.

French Orwellianism

*
What do they have to hide?

Why would the French want to prevent citizen journalist from reporting the news?

~~~
The broad drafting of the law so as to criminalize the activities of citizen journalists unrelated to the perpetrators of violent acts is no accident, but rather a deliberate decision by the authorities, said Cohet. He is concerned that the law, and others still being debated, will lead to the creation of a parallel judicial system controlling the publication of information on the Internet.
The government has also proposed a certification system for Web sites, blog hosters, mobile-phone operators and Internet service providers, identifying them as government-approved sources of information if they adhere to certain rules. The journalists’ organization Reporters Without Borders, which campaigns for a free press, has warned that such a system could lead to excessive self censorship as organizations worried about losing their certification suppress certain stories.
The Global Warming Swindle
*
There have already been several global warmings, and several global coolings, all without any anthropological help or hindrance.
The Earth’s climate is not static. It never has been and it never will be.
There will be another Ice Age.
It will happen.
The watermelon socialist (green on the outside, red on the inside) are just using a natural fluctuation in our planet's climate (AKA Global Warming) to enrich themselves at the expense of the people.
~~~
This, claim the sceptics, is a flaw in the CO2 theory, because the post-war economic boom produced more CO2 and should, according to the consensus, have meant a rise in global temperatures.

The programme claims there appears to be a consensus across science that CO2 is responsible for global warming, but Professor Paul Reiter is shown to disagree.

He said the influential United Nations report on Climate change, that claimed humans were responsible, was a sham.

It claimed to be the opinion of 2,500 leading scientists, but Prof Reiter said it included names of scientists who disagreed with the findings and resigned from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and said the report was finalised by government appointees.

The CO2 theory is further undermined by claims that billions of pounds is being provided by governments to fund greenhouse effect research, so thousands of scientists know their job depends on the theory continuing to be seen as fact.

Anatomy of Evil

*
I found this referenced over at LGF. I think it is an important article.

The flashy brash propaganda of brightly colored posters with big bold face type, long winded speeches, and front page assertions of loud lies are easier to combat than another type.

The propaganda of the background noise, carefully falsified and purposely vague is as deadly if not more deadly to the soul then its louder more colorful counterpart. Its very subtleness makes it almost impossible to warn others against.

They will think you are making much of something small with out understanding that even enough straw piled on a donkey’s back can crush it.

~~~
That's not what makes this book evil. No, it's the fact that Berry sets this scene against a background in which Israelis are systematically driving all the Palestinians out of Israel; the Israelis are heavily armed by the British while the Palestinians have no weapons to counter them; and the Israelis have rounded up whole villages of Palestinians and slaughtered them, men and women alike.
These things are not what the scene is about. They are slipped in as background; they are treated as if they were the sort of thing that was really going on in Palestine in 1948.
This is the kind of thing that readers -- especially ones who don't know anything about history -- are likely to assume the writer has researched, so that it can be trusted. The book is fiction, so we know this particular character did not torture and kill the other guy -- that part is obviously made up. But the background is assumed to be real. And readers often come out of books like this thinking they now know something about the real world.
In fact, what Berry is providing is pure propaganda -- the propaganda created by terrorists and murderers to "prove" that Jews "deserve" to be blown up by suicide bombers. It is exactly as reliable as the widely-believed propaganda lie that either President Bush or the state of Israel -- or both -- actually carried out the 9/11 attacks in order to provide a pretext for invading innocent Muslim countries.
Nothing worth fighting over
*
Islam would not be a threat to the West if it were not for the fact that West is a threat to itself. Self hatred and loathing are what is destroying the west. Nihilism is rotting the soul of the West. Hatred of our failure to be gods and a hatred of the God we would supplant makes the West weak and contemptible.
Secular extremism and nihilism have made us easy pickings for the wolves and vermin hectoring the West from all sides and even from within.
There is nothing worth fighting over.
There will be no resistance.
HE MADMAN----Have you not heard of that madman who lit a lantern in the bright morning hours, ran to the market place, and cried incessantly: "I seek God! I seek God!"---As many of those who did not believe in God were standing around just then, he provoked much laughter. Has he got lost? asked one. Did he lose his way like a child? asked another. Or is he hiding? Is he afraid of us? Has he gone on a voyage? emigrated?---Thus they yelled and laughed
The madman jumped into their midst and pierced them with his eyes. "Whither is God?" he cried; "I will tell you. We have killed him---you and I. All of us are his murderers. But how did we do this? How could we drink up the sea? Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the entire horizon? What were we doing when we unchained this earth from its sun? Whither is it moving now? Whither are we moving? Away from all suns? Are we not plunging continually? Backward, sideward, forward, in all directions? Is there still any up or down? Are we not straying, as through an infinite nothing? Do we not feel the breath of empty space? Has it not become colder? Is not night continually closing in on us? Do we not need to light lanterns in the morning? Do we hear nothing as yet of the noise of the gravediggers who are burying God? Do we smell nothing as yet of the divine decomposition? Gods, too, decompose. God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him.
"How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it? There has never been a greater deed; and whoever is born after us---for the sake of this deed he will belong to a higher history than all history hitherto."
Here the madman fell silent and looked again at his listeners; and they, too, were silent and stared at him in astonishment. At last he threw his lantern on the ground, and it broke into pieces and went out. "I have come too early," he said then; "my time is not yet. This tremendous event is still on its way, still wandering; it has not yet reached the ears of men. Lightning and thunder require time; the light of the stars requires time; deeds, though done, still require time to be seen and heard. This deed is still more distant from them than most distant stars---and yet they have done it themselves.
It has been related further that on the same day the madman forced his way into several churches and there struck up his requiem aeternam deo. Led out and called to account, he is said always to have replied nothing but: "What after all are these churches now if they are not the tombs and sepulchers of God?"
Immigrant Muslims widely disdain Western civilization, especially the open sexuality shown through pornography, divorce and homosexuality. Yet they stay. Here is one colorful example: In March 2004, the mother of the notorious Khadr brood (known as Canada’s first terrorism family) publicly insisted that Al-Qaeda-sponsored training camps were the best place for her children. “Would you like me to raise my child in Canada to be, by the time he’s 12 or 13 years old, to be on drugs or having some homosexual relationship? Is it better?” But one month later, in April 2004, she returned from Afghanistan and Pakistan with one of her sons.
At the same time, what some see as Europe’s political correctness reflects a deeper phenomenon, namely, the alienation of many Europeans from their civilization—a sense that their culture is not worth fighting for or even saving. It’s striking to note differences within Europe in this regard. Perhaps the country least prone to this alienation is France, where traditional nationalism still holds sway and the French take pride in their identity. Britain is most disconnected, as symbolized by the plaintive government program “ICONS—A Portrait of England.” “ICONS” lamely hopes to rekindle patriotism by connecting Britons to their “national treasures”, such as Winnie the Pooh and miniskirts.
Nonetheless, extreme secularism pervades Europe, especially among its elites, to the point that believing Christians are seen as mentally unbalanced and unfit for public office. In 2005, Italy denied Catholic politician Rocco Buttiliglione the European Union commissionership—because of his views on issues like homosexuality. Entrenched secularism also means empty churches: London is home to seven times more born-Christians than born-Muslims, but more people attend mosques on Friday than churches on Sunday. As Christianity fades, Islam beckons; Prince Charles exemplifies many Europeans’ fascination with Islam. The continent could see many conversions, for as the saying ascribed to G. K. Chesterton contends, “When men stop believing in God they don’t believe in nothing; they believe in anything.”
The late Oriana Fallaci observed that, with the passage of time, “Europe becomes more and more a province of Islam, a colony of Islam.” The historian Bat Ye’or has dubbed this colony “Eurabia.” Walter Laqueur predicts in his forthcoming Last Days of Europe that Europe as we know it is bound to change. Mark Steyn, in America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It, argues that much of the Western world “will not survive the twenty-first century, and much of it will effectively disappear within our lifetimes, including many if not most European countries.”
